About us

Producer Development®

You can hear when a record is done. You can't hear where next month's clients come from.

So you've tried the known fixes. Posting more. Posting less. Dropping your rate "just this once." Waiting for the last happy client to tell a friend. Maybe a course from a coach who hasn't touched a DAW since 2006. Here's the trap: none of it fails completely. Referrals do come, sometimes. Your career works just often enough to keep you from fixing it. So here's what we actually do: we build your client acquisition with you, piece by piece. A profile that sells you while you sleep. Lead sources that bring in artists whether you posted this week or not. A DM process that turns strangers into booked work. And we don't hand you a plan and disappear. We implement it with you, week by week, reading the numbers together, until you're booked out and running the whole thing without us. Below is what that looks like.

What we do

The system.

Offer and positioning system graphic

Offer and positioning

We rebuild your offer to answer what every artist silently asks before they DM you: who is this for, why you, what does it cost, and what do I do next.

Demand generation system graphic

Demand generation

Ads built for music work, plus daily sourcing that finds artists who actually fit what you sell. You control the tap: turn it on and fresh conversations come in, turn it off and they stop.

DM conversion system graphic

DM conversion

A few messages and a clear yes or no, settled in the DMs without ever getting on a call. The wrong artists remove themselves before they ever reach you. You pick, they pay.

We’ve helped music pros across the globe to build profitable careers. Here are some of our recent alums.

The guy.

I'm Ed. I'm blunt, I count everything, and I think most music-business advice is grown men doing astrology. If you want your client acquisition built and someone who tells you the truth about your numbers every week, that's the whole store.

Ed, founder of Producer Development

Who this is for.

Producers and mixing engineers who already have the craft. Late twenties to mid forties, real credits or real client results, and an income that still depends on who happens to text back.

Skilled and still underpaid.

Your months swing between fully booked and completely dead

Referrals and SoundBetter currently decide when you work

You watch producers with half your skill get booked while you wait to be recommended

People depend on what you bring home, and the clock on "someday" ran out

You went independent for the freedom and got a second prison instead

Who it's not for.

Beginners, hobbyists, and anyone hunting a discount.

FAQ.

Got questions? We’ve got answers. Here’s everything you need to know about working with us.

Is this a course?

No. We build your client acquisition together, one on one. You get the work done with me, every week, and you keep everything we build.

Ads and lead sourcing go live in the first weeks, and conversations with artists start as soon as they do. The goal is that you're booked out and know how to stay booked out. That usually takes around six months. If it takes longer, I stay until we're both happy, at no extra cost.

No. Artists come in through ads and daily sourcing, so this works whether you have 400 followers or 40,000. Your credits and your work do the convincing, your follower count is irrelevant.

Beginners, hobbyists, and anyone hunting a discount. This works by pointing demand at real skill. If the craft isn't there yet, fix that first and come back.

Eventually, probably. Everything I do is learnable, the same way mixing is learnable. You're paying to skip the years of trial and error, and to have someone reading your numbers every week who has already run this for producers like you.

Your move.
